Rigid bolts are threaded into the inside and outside sheets that make up the firebox. The bolts are hammered over to expand the threads in the hole to create a seal and a secure structural joint. The end of the bolt in the firebox is then seal welded which thermally bonds the bolt to the inside sheet of the firebox to allow the heat from the fire to pass from the end of the bolt to the sheet so the end of the bolt doesn’t become overheated. Sponsor a rigid stay bolt (s) today!
